Children will work closely with the teaching artists through small group instruction to build on their foundational art making skills while also getting exposed to art history and art techniques in sculpture, collage, fiber arts and more. The course provides age-appropriate challenges for them to explore drawing, painting, sculpture, collage and mixed media with an emphasis on experimentation. Special attention will be placed on incorporating the study of art history, including influential artists and art movements during each class. Guided tours every Saturday starting at 2 PM Guests will explore various highlights of the collection, the museum’s architecture and current exhibitions both inside and outside of The Bass through an interactive guided tour. Trained educators who facilitate engaging discussions will provide behind-the-scenes experience of The Bass and activities to further engage your experience with art. This tour is included with cost of museum admission and lasts approximately 45 minutes.
