In November 2022, City of Miami Beach voters approved a $159-million-dollar bond measure to support local arts and cultural institutions. The Bass received $20.1-million-dollars from the City’s GO Bond to support expansion of the museum gallery spaces and infrastructure enhancements to the current facility.

The Bass plans to add versatile spaces for engagement and a state-of-the-art contemporary gallery for the museum’s growing permanent collection, incorporating educational technology that enhances the visitor experience, as well as modern ways of presenting new media and video works which aligns with the cultural direction of Miami Beach.
