Volunteer sewers needed to support the Miami chapter of Ryan’s Case for Smiles Foundation! September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness month. Join us at the Garden as we team up with the Miami chapter of Ryan’s Case for Smiles Foundation. We’ll be sewing up some colorful pillowcases for kids that will be donated to the pediatric units of local Miami hospitals. Nurses will distribute the pillowcases to children dealing with not only cancer, but all life changing illnesses.

We need experienced sewers as well as help ironing (12 years & older). If you wish to bring your own sewing machine, please bring an extension cord. (Please note this is not a learn to sew class.)

Pillowcase kits will be provided, but we welcome all fabric donations! (100% cotton in colorful novelty prints please.)

If you are joining us a a sewing volunteer, please feel free to bring your family. The Miami Beach Botanical Garden has free admission and your family can enjoy the beautiful Garden while you get to sew!
