Join NWS Fellows for an intimate glimpse into their craft with behind-the-scenes presentations. In this rare opportunity to hear a lesser-known double reed instrument, Fellows will introduce the heckelphone, explore its origins and use, and experience its unique, rich baritone timbre. Playing the heckelphone and joining the Fellows in performance is Jim Rodgers, Principal Contrabassoonist with the Pittsburgh Symphony. Audience members are encouraged to participate by asking questions and taking part in post-presentation discussions.
