The MMF Wagner Institute, conducted by Founder and Artistic Director Michael Rossi, returns to Miami Beach in a groundbreaking and long-anticipated performance of Das Rheingold, the thrilling prelude to Wagner’s famous Ring Cycle. Experience the opera like never before in an immersive environment that places the audience inside the scenery using the Temple House’s state-of-the-art 360° projections.

In the depths of the Rhine, the three Rhinemaidens guard the Rhinegold: a treasure of immeasurable value. The Nibelung dwarf Alberich is dazzled by the sight of it. The girls explain that whoever wins the gold and forges it into a ring will gain power over the world, but must renounce love. Frustrated by his unsuccessful attempts to catch one of the girls, Alberich curses love and steals the gold. The ring he forges is fought over by gods and giants alike, setting into motion events beyond what even the powerful Wotan can prevent.

It is believed this Das Rheingold will be the first fully staged production of this masterwork in South Florida.
