For Do Not Disturb, Kell presents a collection of figurative paintings made on and from the surfaces of mattresses and related bedding materials. Responding to the architectural opportunities and limitations, the work at The Catalina Hotel plays with the bed as a site of intimacy, tension, and mediation that sits at the intersections of private and public, natural and cultural, glamorous and trashy.
