Carmen By Georges Bizet

Carmen tells the story of Don Jose, a Spanish soldier who falls in love with the fiery and tempestuous Carmen. After two months away, Jose finds that he has a rival for Carmen’s affections in the form of the toreador Escamillo. Love, anger, and jealousy explode as the three become embroiled in this passionate Romance, containing some of the most iconic songs in opera.

Written by the French composer Georges Bizet, with the libretto produced by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halevy, the Carmen opera premiered on 3rd March 1875. It has been hailed as a masterpiece and remains one of the most popular operas today.
